Utility Locating
Our GPR equipment can locate utilities up to 3 meters deep. We can typically detect metallic and non-metallic objects such as terra cotta drainage tiles, PVC piping, concrete and metal pipes. We have successfully located water and sewer, underground storage tanks (USTs), gas, irrigation and drainage. This application can be done virtually anywhere where space to manoeuvre our equipment is not a concern, like asphalt or concrete covered parking lots, bare lots, sports fields, golf fairways and greens, roadways and sidewalks, inside large industrial buildings, bridge decks and more.
Below is an illustration of our findings at a retail store undergoing renovations to the exterior. The scope of the work was to locate everything down through 6 feet prior to excavation work.
In one day we located all water and sewer pipes, gas lines, electrical conduits to exterior lighting, irrigation and drainage lines as well as the main electrical lines to the exterior electrical sub-station. The illustration below was generated using the original site drawings.
